Overhead VS On the Side
If you have a fence that you would like to install lights on, side lights are a good style choice to go for to make them glow up at night and look pretty. If you are looking for slightly more light that is also more functional, overhead string lights are better and will look better.

Solar String Lights VS Plug In
Solar lights are not as bright as plug-in string lights, so if you want lights for the purpose of being able to sit outside when the sun has gone down, you need to consider the charging source. Plug in lights are far more effective for this and will not run out of battery/grow dimmer if they haven't been exposed to enough sunlight.

Wire VS No Wire
Another thing to consider is whether you want lights with wires and how this might impact the overall look of the lights in your outside space. You could prepare a hanging light kit to strung a guide wire for the lights.
Permanent VS Removable
Some people like to change up the look of their outdoor spaces, and this includes any lights. Consider whether you want your lights to be set up in a permanent way, or a way that is easily changeable. Opting for permanent lighting can provide a consistent ambiance and require less maintenance, but if you prefer flexibility and creativity, it's recommended to use string lights that are easy to disassemble and store. This allows you to effortlessly refresh your outdoor decor and adapt to different occasions or moods.
